"Hugs" for Renee's Kids

The National Day of Remembrance for Murder Victims was observed for a second year with a local candlelight vigil.  It was held at Johnson Park.

Some of the victims represented and/or remembered included Renee, Jeffrey L. Owens (murdered 2.16.94), Julie Abbott (murdered 4.2.04), Julia Keenan Dawson, Ean French (murdered 2.3.03), Brandon M. Whitby (murdered 8.21.08), Rodney Johnson, Lee Priester (murdered 7.28.07), Janna Kelly (murdered 12.4.07), Sue Timpson, Lori DeKleine, Troy Tyo, Richard Dannah (murdered 5.31.08), Christopher Turner, Joel Battaglia, and Janeane Lusk, and Chad McElwee.

We were honored to have retired Senator Bill VanRegenmorter to share with us....he is a huge advocate for crime victims, and has authored crime bills in Michigan that have been nationally recognized.  He is a former board member of Parents of Murdered Children.

Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves; ensure justice for those being crushed.  Yes, speak up for the poor and helpless, and see that they get justice.
